Senegal international Kara Mbodji will be ready for the upcoming 2018 FIFA World Cup finals in Russia.
This is according to RSC Anderlecht head coach Hein Vanhaezebrouck, who has confirmed that the defender is slowly recovering his fitness.
The 28-year-old, who is one of Anderlecht’s key defenders, has been nursing an injury since December 2017.
“Kara is busy working to come back, but it takes time,” Vanhaezebrouck said on Wiwsport.com.
“Kara has only been training outside for a week.
“I do not know if he will be able to join us in time for the playoffs, but he will certainly be ready for the World Cup.”
Mbodji has made 12 appearances in the Belgian First Division A this season.
Senegal coach Aliou Cisse is expected to announce the squad for the World Cup later this month.
The tournament will be played between June and July 2018.
