All three goals in PSG-Lyon were world-class, though none was more important than Memphis Depay’s wonder goal in the final minute of stoppage time to give Lyon the win.

Paris Saint-Germain right-back Dani Alves is still angry about the red card he received in Sunday’s 2-1 defeat at Lyon, and the Brazil international has taken to Instagram to express his dissatisfaction.

Alves, 34, looked set to receive a second-half booking from referee Clement Turpin at Groupama Stadium but instead talked himself into a straight dismissal and Marco Verratti was lucky not to join him after getting involved.

“The decisions have already been taken and the battle has already been lost but I still think that Mr. Referee fudged his decision,” Alves wrote. “Since when is not agreeing to something tantamount to disrespect?

“If you want to blame me, then you are free to do so. Besides, I have very broad shoulders and a pair of … which still have me standing! #AlwaysGoodCrazy #FeelTheGameLikeMyLifeSorry”

PSG were level at 1-1 when Alves saw red but ultimately Unai Emery’s men were unable to see out the draw and Memphis Depay scored a powerful late winner.

Dani Alves
Dani Alves was sent off for dissent on Sunday.

“Kylian’s injury and Dani’s red card lost us control,” Emery said postmatch. “The team played well but circumstances made the difference. With the chances and the control that we enjoyed, we deserved better.

“We did not play well during the opening 10 minutes. The equaliser was deserved. In the second half, we started the way that we finished the first. We lost match-winning options but the team kept working hard and trying to score.

“Lyon also possess individual quality, as we saw in the last kick, which won it.”

Alves’ impending suspension is likely to create an opening for Thomas Meunier in the PSG starting XI.

Les Parisiens have Guingamp at home in the Coupe de France round of 32 and Montpellier at home in Ligue 1 coming up this week.
