Eintracht Frankfurt have arrived in Salt Lake City for the first match of their US summer tour against MLS side Real Salt Lake on Tuesday (kick-off: 10pm ET/3am+1 BST/4am+1 CEST).

The DFB Cup champions return to the United States for the second consecutive year as they gear up for the 2018/19 Bundesliga season and a UEFA Europa League campaign. Before facing Philadelphia Union on Friday, the Eagles are in Utah to play 2009 MLS Cup champions Real Salt Lake at their Rio Tinto Stadium.

Eintracht travel to the States without their World Cup contingent, including Croatia’s Ante Rebic and Mexican duo Marco Fabian and Carlos Salcedo, but do have USA international Timothy Chandler among their ranks. New signings Felix Wiedwald, Lucas Torro and Nicolai Müller also make the journey, while the squad are also joined by trialist Allan Souza from Liverpool. The Brazilian midfielder previously spent a season on loan at Hertha Berlin and has been given a chance by Jürgen Klopp to impress new Frankfurt coach Adi Hütter, who replaces Niko Kovac in the hot seat.

RSL currently sit fourth in the MLS Western Conference just after the halfway stage and head into the Frankfurt game on the back of two impressive wins against Sporting Kansas City and FC Dallas, who both sit above Mike Petke’s side in the table. Former USA international Kyle Beckerman is the club’s captain and most influential player, while Slovakian Albert Rusnak is the team’s most threatening man in front of goal, notching up a combined 20 goals and assists last season. Croatian midfielder Damir Kreilach joined Salt Lake in February after five years with Union Berlin in Bundesliga 2.
